State: New Mexico Region: East Central Property Type: Irrigated Farm Acres: 880 more or less Taxes: Approximately $785.23 Location: 2 miles north of House, NM This good irrigated farm is on Hwy 252 two miles north of House, NM and has 337.0 acres under sprinklers, 172.6 acres that can be row irrigated, 135.6 acres of dryland and 228.7 acres of native grass. Alfalfa in its second year of production is planted on 163.1 acres of the sprinkler-irrigated land. There are 3 center-pivot sprinkler irrigation systems and 16 irrigation wells including 3 with turbine pumps and hollow-shaft electric motors, 11 with submersible electric motors and pumps and 2 without pumps. The wells are approximately 110 to 120 ft deep with 50 to 60 ft of water standing in the wells at the start of the pumping season. The wells tested an average of approximately160 gpm in July, 2009 during the peak use season. One sprinkler covers 116.1 acres and is a 1982, 7-tower Zimmatic with updated drops that is nozzeled for 600 gpm. Another sprinkler is a 2003 T&L with 8 towers and long drops that covers 126.5 acres and is nozzeled for 400 gpm. The third sprinkler is a 2008 T&L with 8 towers and long drops that windshield wipes 94.4 acres and is nozzeled for 600 gpm. Three-phase electricity supplies all electric motors and sprinklers.
